Elizabeth Robinson was born and raised in Boston, U.S. She speaks English and studied French throughout her schooling. She taught English in South Korea for two years and in Spain for three years. Her Spanish is much stronger than her Korean but her love for both of these cultures and for working translingually and transculturally has infused her professional work. She has a master’s degree in applied linguistics and a doctorate degree in education in language, literacy and culture. She has taught in public schools, overseas and in universities. Her focus in all her work is on using education as a tool for justice by preparing teachers to work in linguistically and culturally promoting ways.
